bio
Guaynaa, born Jean Carlos Santiago Pérez on September 16, 1992, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, is one of the freshest and most authentic artists in Latin music today. He grew up surrounded by music thanks to his family and from a very young age mixed the traditional roots of Puerto Rico with urban and Caribbean influences.
Although he initially studied chemical engineering, his life changed after Hurricane Maria in 2017, when he released “María Freestyle,” a song that went viral for its social message. Shortly after, in 2019, he exploded onto the world stage with “Rebota,” a hit that put him on major stages and led him to collaborate with stars such as Becky G, Nicky Jam, Farruko, and Sech on the official remix.
Since then, he has worked with artists such as Mon Laferte, Yandel, Lele Pons, and Mariah Angeliq, proving that his style goes beyond reggaeton: he combines humor, energy, social criticism, and a unique sound that connects with different generations. His projects include the albums La República (2021), Capitulaciones (2023, with Lele Pons), and Cumbia y Amor (2025).
On a personal level, he has a very public relationship with Lele Pons, whom he married in 2023 and had his first daughter, Eloísa, with in 2025.
With his authenticity and charisma, Guaynaa has established himself as one of the most original voices on the Latin scene, bringing the flavor of Puerto Rico to the whole world.
